OUR PARTNERS AND SUPPORTERS
Our achievements and goals for the future could never be accomplished without the help of our generous supporters. These outstanding organizations show a deep commitment to our communities and the welfare of our youth. These partnerships will help youth achieve their dreams. Youth Without Borders is grateful for the opportunity to work with such exceptional people and organizations.

Clemson University Youth Learning Institute

Creating High Performance Learning Environments

A vital unit of Clemson Public Service Activities, the Youth Learning Institute (YLI) was established to help the University achieve its goal for impacting youth and families. Since Executive Director Jorge Calzadilla first joined Clemson nearly 20 years ago, the organization has grown from a nine-week summer camp program with 12 staff members into a year-round operation with 77 active programs and nearly 200 full-time and seasonal employees. Last year alone, YLI served more than 28,000 participants.

Recognized as a pioneer in the development and operation of innovative, high performance learning programs, YLI serves diverse populations of youth and adults at facilities throughout the state. Hundreds of external partnerships have resulted in groundbreaking programs in four program divisions:

  • Youth Development
  • Family and Adult Outreach
  • Special Needs, and
  • Professional Development

YLI aggressively embraces its commission for public service, envisioning its role with Clemson as a platform to “invest in a life, build a community and change the world” for people in South Carolina and beyond. Moreover, the Institute accepts a key role in helping move Clemson into a Top 20 ranked public university.

YLI is proud to partner with Youth Without Borders to provide opportunities for Ruffin Middle School students to attend 4H Summer Camp. This experience is sure to help students build new skills, develop lifelong memories, gain new friendships and have lots of fun!
